The Waldron boys basketball team traveled to Tri Saturday afternoon for a 1:30 tip off. The Titans started the game hot, knocking down some tough contested three pointers to give them an early 20-9 lead. The Mohawks battled back. Tyler Bowlby found lanes to the hoop all night long with a game high 25 points. Jacobi Percell was fantastic in the second quarter as well, scoring 9 of his 11 points in the second quarter.
The Mohawks stayed within shouting distance in the third quarter to take a 7 point deficit into the fourth quarter. Bryce Yarling, who had battled illness early in the week, came alive in the fourth quarter, scoring 13 of his 18 in the fourth to lead the Waldron back to take their first lead in the game with three minutes remaining. Free throws from Bowlby and Caden Sheaffer helped secure the game in the fourth quarter, propelling the Mohawks to a 55-49 victory.
The Mohawks travel to South Decatur Friday for their final MHC game.
