The Mohawks boys basketball team traveled to take on South Decatur Friday evening. The Cougars entered the contest undefeated in MHC play. Waldron competed hard all night, led by Tyler Bowlby’s 21 points and Bryce Yarling’s 19. The Mohawk defense did a good job limiting South Decatur’s chances all night and took a 31-29 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Yarling began to take over, scoring 8 points in the third quarter. Jacobi Percell did a great job defensively and also added 8 points. Lucas Mitchell also had 8 and Ethan Trueblood had 4 in his first game back from injury.
The Cougars pressure was consistent all night and in the end, made a couple more plays than the Mohawks to squeak out the 63-60 win. The Mohawks are back in action for the home finale Saturday night as they host Centerville.
