The Mohawks traveled to Anderson Prep for their final regular season tune up before next week’s sectional. After the JV team notched a 34-23 victory, the varsity squad picked up where they left off, getting out to a 15-4 lead after the first quarter thanks to a buzzer beater three pointer by Bryce Yarling to end the first quarter.
The night, however, belonged to Tyler Bowlby as he become the fifth player in school history to score 1000 career points on a three pointer early in the second quarter. Bowlby led all scorers with 19 points.
The Mohawks relied on tough defense and balanced scoring to maintain control of the game throughout. Yarling had 18 points, Lucas Mitchell had 10, Ethan Trueblood added 9, David Miller had 8, Mitch Coon had 7, and Jacobi Percell added 4.
The Mohawks play next on Wednesday evening in the first round of the sectional against Rising Sun at 5:30pm. Tickets can be purchased in the high school office.
