The Waldron Mohawks took to the road for their first MHC road game of the season against the chargers of North Decatur. Waldron was down 13 at the half, but controlled the third quarter, while cutting the charger lead to 6. Waldron got within three points in the fourth, but fell to North Decatur 67-57.
In the Mohawk’s best all-around performance to date, many Mohawks did well. Junior Zane Smith dominated in the post en route to a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Smith also recorded three blocks and two assists. Sophomore Parker Huffman made five clutch threes while also dishing out four assists. Senior Cameron Wells added 11 points and seven rebounds while senior Cole Adams contributed ten points and grabbed five rebounds. The Mohawks take to the road on Saturday night as the travel to Southwestern for an MHC road contest, and a preview of the Shelby county tournament.
