The Waldron Mohawks had their first true road game of the season, losing at Triton Central 56-74. The Mohawks dug themselves into a 18-2 hole against their Shelby county rivals, and that start was too much to overcome. The Mohawks fought back to cut the tigers’ lead to 12, but Triton always had an answer.
Senior Cole Adams had a great night, leading all players with 25 points, including an unprecedented 7-7 from beyond the three point line. Senior Cam Wells continued his streak of double digit scoring with 13 points. Sophomore Parker Huffman added 7 points and 7 assists while having the task of guarding the tigers’ sharp shooter. Freshman Tyler Bowlby contributed 6 points and 6 rebounds.
The Mohawks fall to 2-2 on the season and host the Edinburgh Lancers on Saturday night in their MHC opener.
