The Bethesda Christian Patriots defeated Waldron 65 to 58 on Tuesday night. The Mohawks started the game strong, but the Patriots’ strong second quarter was the difference in the ball game. Miscues on defense plagued the Mohawks all night while Bethesda dominated in the paint. Waldron’s comeback bid in the fourth quarter was thwarted by Bethesda’s free throws down the stretch.
Junior Parker Huffman led the Mohawks offensively with 21 points, 14 of which came in the fourth quarter while garnering Bethesda’s defensive attention. Huffman also added four rebounds and two steals. Sophomore Tyler Bowlby added 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Junior Shawn Cole scored in double digits for the second straight game with 10 points and also grabbed six rebounds.
The Mohawks are back in action on Friday night when the host Triton Central. The girls game tips off at 6:00pm, with the boys to follow.
