The Mohawks hosted the Knightstown Panthers on Friday evening to conclude Winter Break. It was clear that the game would be a gritty affair, with both teams playing scrappy defense in the first half. Waldron’s full court defense gave the Panthers some trouble early, forcing several turnovers that led to easy baskets. Bryce Yarling led the Mohawks in the first half, scoring 7 of his 9 points. Shawn Cole got to the basket several times, also chipping in 9. The Mohawks struggled coming out of halftime, as the Panthers forced some turnovers to tie the game. Tyler Bowlby came alive in the second half, scoring 17 of his 21 points in the half. The Mohawks got some clutch free throws late from Bowlby, Johns, and Ethan Trueblood to seal the game. The Mohawks came away with the win 56-48.

The Mohawks play next Friday against Triton Central in the first round of the Shelby County tournament.
