After a rough start with serving and talking, the JV team went on a huge run with Kaylee Young’s serving (5 aces) to reclaim the lead and win the first set 25-23. In the second set, the Lady Mohawks made adjustments and used momentum to win the match in straight games. Josee Larrison picked up 10 kills and 6 digs while Molly Benson led the defense with 8 digs. Hadlie Ross dished out 22 assists with Ragen Farley, Mackenzie Shaw, and Kaylee Young putting up 4 kills each.
The Varsity team started out the match slow, giving SW momentum and the win in the first set 25-19. After regrouping, Waldron jumped out early in the second set and took control winning 25-17. The two teams battled down the stretch in the last two sets, but Waldron was able to play consistently and challenge the Lady Spartans to win 25-20 in games 3 and 4. Madalyn Hudnall led the front row with 14 kills, 5 solo blocks, and 2 block assists. Megan Bogemann (21 digs) and Nichole Garner (20 digs) balanced the defense while Maddi Tyree (30 assists, 3 aces) paced the offense. Lauren Fischer contributed 8 digs and 7 kills, Mackenzie Shaw had 6 kills, and Kaylee Young picked up 4 kills in the conference win.
